MLM Online: Here Is What You Need To Know
I’m sure most of you are aware of the recent trend regarding doing MLM Online.
Now, I’m not talking about those programs that are internet based company who don’t sell any physical products.
I’m talking about using the internet for MLM lead generation, relationship building and personal branding.
With the introduction and viral effect of Web 2.0, doing MLM online has become a great way for network marketers to connect, share ideas and present their opportunities with millions around the world.
Web 2.0 is the reason why internet network marketing has exploded in the last 3-5 years.
So, What exactly is Web 2.0?
A Web 2.0 site enables users to have interaction and also work together in a social media conversation as creators of user-generated content in a digital community. This is different than websites where consumers are restricted to what content material was presented for them by site owners.
Types of Web 2.0 include social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus), blogs, wikis, video sites (Youtube), internet applications, mashups.
These are some of the difference between Web 2.0 and pre-Web 2.0:
- Pre-Web 2.0 sites were mostly static. While Web 2.0 are constantly updated (example: blog posts, status updates, tweets)
- Very hard to achieve viral effect with pre-Web 2.0.
- Pre-Web 2.0 were mostly a one way communication…not much interaction.
- In the past, people had to know how to build a website and know all the intricacies about driving prospects to their sites.
Just a few years ago, most people never consider it is possible to build any type of relationships online. The school of thought was; “you need face to face presentation to truly establish relationships”.
Well, I here to tell you, and millions will agree, that it’s just not the case right anymore, and if you still think that way, you’re limiting yourself to a world of possibilities.
Think about it.
How many of you said, “Why do I need email? I can just call or mail a letter.”, a decade ago?
How many of you said, “I will never go on Facebook. I don’t want others to know what’s going on in my life”, just a couple of years ago?
How many of you said, “You can’t meet your soul mate online”? While tens of thousands, even millions, have met their husband/wife on dating sites.
Do you still think doing MLM online can not work, and that it’s just a fad?
Trust me, Web 2.0/Social Media is here to stay. Why? If you think about it Social Media is not much different than offline. By nature we are all social creatures. We like to share things, ideas, concepts, styles. We like to contribute, help others, be part of a community or movement.
Social Media has given us the platform to do this and more. Now, we are not just limited to our local area. We can connect and communicate around the world – distributing, creating, sharing, collaborating.
This is the power of the internet.
This is the power of doing MLM online.
Think about it, where else can you present your opportunity, products or services to potentially millions around without you physically being there. Sometimes all you need to do is upload a video to Youtube and conduct marketing campaigns, and it’s on autopilot, 24/7.
OK, I’m not going to tell you it’s as easy as just having a Youtube account. Just like anything else, there is work involve, and depending on your experience level, it may take months, or years to really master the art of doing MLM online.
Many people think you need to be tech savvy in order to be successful online. That is just not the case. It’s not about the most flashy website. Nowadays, you can set up a professional looking blog in matter of minutes.
It’s about value you add to your audience. So, if you are hesitant to do MLM online because you don’t think you have the technical skills, don’t feel that way. It doesn’t take much to set up a Facebook page or a Twitter account. As long as you have knowledge that others value, they will seek you out.
Below, I’m going to outline a few strategies to get you going online.
Set Up Your Online Properties
- Facebook account
- Google Plus
- Blog (this will differentiate you from a lot of networkers)
Do not make the mistake of thinking these sites are for spamming everyone about your opportunity. Remember, these are social media sites. Approach them like how you would approach people offline. Build relationship and establish trust first.
Learn Attraction Marketing
Attraction Marketing, popularized by Mike Dillard, is about branding and establishing yourself as a leader. This is very important not only online, but offline as well.
Just remember this, people don’t join companies or products. They join people. They join leaders.
If you are not a leader yourself, you will never attract other leaders.
If you are able to establish yourself as a source of value and leadership, people will come to you. This the ultimate goal of Attraction Marketing; getting prospects to chase you, not the other way around.
If you haven’t read Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring, I highly recommend you start there. This was the catalyst for me to start doing MLM online.
Use an Existing Online System
If you don’t have time to learn the ins and outs of doing MLM online, plug into an existing online system. There a few systems that have proven to work over the years. These systems will speed up your learn curve. Most of the successful online networkers were students of some of these systems.
The one I’m currently using is My Lead Systems Pro (MLSP). They are the most popular at the moment. I have gotten invaluable information from them.
Ok, I think that’s a good start for now. I’m not some of those Gurus out there who’ll tell you it’s going to be easy, and success is just a button push away. At first, it can be overwhelm. Just take it one step at a time, and master one thing at time. Remember, most of us are working part-time trying to achieve full-time income. If it is that easy, everybody will be relaxing on the beach, have a mansion and driving fancy cars. If you want those things, you have to work at it.
Doing MLM online is not only a great way to expanding your market. I believe in the future this skill set is not just a nice-to-have, it’ll be a need-to-have.
To Your Success,
